Drawing Class: 1 hour x 4 sessions

There are no prerequisites to sign up for this introductory course.

Description

1 hour x 4 sessions ($60 per lesson) includes materials. Basic elements of art and concepts of drawing taught through projects using pencil, charcoal pencil, ink, and chalk.

Grade Level: Appropriate for age 7-14 beginner/intermediate art experience.

Portrait Class: 1 hour x 4 sessions

1 hour x 4 sessions ($60 per lesson) includes materials. Various artists studied which may include: Monet, Van Gogh, Picasso, Degas, Mondrian, Kandinsky, O’Keefe, Modigliani, Kahlo, etc. Projects will mirror the style of the artist studied.

Meet Your Instructor

Allison Vasquez

Allison Vasquez is a credentialed teacher with a degree in Liberal Studies and a supplemental certification in K-9th grade math. With over a decade of classroom teaching experience and 14 years of homeschooling, she brings a deep understanding of diverse learning styles and a heart for nurturing curiosity in children.

A lifelong artist, Allison’s passion for creativity began as a latchkey kid, watching and mimicking Bob Ross after school. She has experience in painting, drawing, and ceramics and loves inspiring students to see themselves as artists while fostering an appreciation for art history.

As a mother of seven—including foster, adopted, and biological children—Allison understands the importance of individualized learning. She is dedicated to making art, math, and writing engaging and accessible for students of all backgrounds. When she’s not teaching, she enjoys photography, exploring the outdoors, traveling to the beach, and spending quality time with her family.

Through her teaching, Allison strives to spark confidence, creativity, and a love of learning in every student she works with.
